Rearranging My Whisky Shelf

As 2013 hits, and we’re already into February, I’m working on a new approach to my whisky postings. I’m about there.

It seemed like a good day to rearrange my whisky shelf. It had gotten a bit out of order.

Here’s my current inventory, with potentially a couple new single casks, a Knob Creek and a 21 year old Willet, from Longman & Eagle, on the way:

Whisky Shelf

One the left end are Maker’s Mark and Jefferson 10 Year-Old rye, with a Longman & Eagle single cask version of 12 year-old Elijah Craig. In between are my Scotch whiskies, with the bigger, peatier whiskies on the left, going to sweeter and lighter whiskies on the right.

What I’m going to try to do is, instead of doing the nose and palette, and all that stuff that’s easy to find, I’m going to write about what the whiskies makes me think of. It may include parts of the flavors or aromas, but just an overall impression, or memories I have around that type of whisky.

I hope you all will enjoy it. I’m also reinvigorating Wordless Whisky Wednesdays!

About Curt McAdams

I guess I'm a bit of a foodie, learning to cook from my mom, then getting obsessed with outdoor cooking, competition barbecue, bread baking and just about all things food. Lately, I've been trying to upgrade my photography skills a bit, though I still have a long way to go.

  1. Very nice collection, Curt. My whisky shelf, with 8 bottles, seems almost empty compared to yours! Your new tasting notes will be interesting.
