How often do you find yourself in a dilemma where you want something dessert-like, but you also want a dram of something or other? Should you get a bowl of ice cream or a bit of that Talisker 18 you’ve been jonesing to open?
Why choose, when you can have both? That’s right… a mix of both dessert and a spot of whisky in one form or another is actually doable. Actually, it’s more than doable; it’s downright delicious!
While waffling between the options of ice cream vs. a drink, I decided to make a milkshake with Drambuie. You don’t like Drambuie, you say? That’s hard to believe, but I feel sad for you if it’s true! Mixed with a milkshake, I realized that this may be my go-to addition to egg nog, also, in the future.
Ingredients:
- 6 ounces of vanilla bean ice cream
- 2-3 ounces of whole milk (depending on thickness of shake desired)
- 1 ounce of Drambuie (ok, how about 1 1/2 ounces?)
That’s all there is to it. There’s no reason to get too complex, as the Drambuie brings all the flavors to the party to add to the vanilla ice cream. Simply add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. less milk=thicker shake, more milk=thinner shake.
So, in my inability to make a decision one way or another as to what I wanted late last night, I now give you… The Dramooie (pronounced dram-moo-ee, emphasis on the moo syllable).
You’re welcome.
