More photos! These include yet more food, including a great reuben sandwich, a brat with kraut, and spiced almonds (can’t resist that cinnamon smell near the booth!) on a caramel sundae. I’m krauted out, until next year!
I just stumbled upon your blog and was so excited to see Waynesville featured! I was just there last weekend and had a wonderful time. My mother, sister, sister-in-law, and I travel there at least 4 times a year for a special girls day out and some great shopping. Waynesville holds a special place in my heart. Great blog!
This is our 6th year living just north of town. We told ourselves the first year that we were going to avoid the estival, but we ended up going and had a great time. We go every year now, and I sold pulled pork sandwiches at a hamburger wagon 2 years ago.
The secret we’ve found is to go late on Saturday, like around 5 pm. Even with good weather, like yesterday, the crowd thins out enough to enjoy it. We went early yesterday to make sure one of the booths didn’t run out of food like last year, though!
Next time you’re in town, make sure to go to the froo froo cafe (I never remember the name), but ask to sit out in the ‘garden’. It’s actually pretty cool back behind the place.
