It’s finally here, the 2nd edition of Carnival of the Grill! Adam of Men In Aprons was kind enough to let me host the Carnival this time, and he’s got a great entry for this edition.
A lot of people think that September is the END of grilling season,
with Labor Day signifying things like pools closing and grill
accessories being packed up. I live in Ohio, but my grill gear never
goes into hibernation! If you’re thinking of packing it up, keep it
out a bit longer and see how autumnal grilling can be the best of the
year. The weather is cooler, so the fire is more inviting than during
the summer. And it’s just that much nicer to sit out with friends,
manning (or womanning) the grill. Don’t be afraid!
The first submission for today’s Carnival of the Grill is from Sherri at Braude’s Bites.
Using a recipe from the Barefoot Contessa, Sherri created this incredible looking Tequila Lime Chicken! Great looking stuff, and those grill marks are just about spot on! Lime, to me, is one of the best flavors to add to chicken.
Fall grilling, huh?
To refute my feelings of all-year grilling, Jennifer has an entry on "Summertime is Barbecue Time" at Suite 101. Outdoor cooking isn’t just about the food; it’s also about the family and the shared memories. And maybe there’s a little jealousy that Dad’s more popular than Mom when he’s cooking on the grill!
On the Sauce
Neil at The Survival Gourmet sends in a submission on a Basic BBQ Sauce. Keep in mind that Neil is well known for his sauces, and everyone needs a go-to basic sauce. The great thing about a basic barbecue sauce is that you can modify it easily to suit your mood or the food with which it’s served.
Briquetta?

Dave at the Fumbling Foodie gives us a rare treat… And admission of things not always going perfectly. The first time he tried this bruscetta, a little distraction caused a bit too much char on the bread! Fresh toppings on grilled bread… Hard to beat!
And finally…
I’ll have a dozen glazed!
Adam himself submits a glaze created by the Dunkin’ Donuts executive chef, a Curry Coffee Grilling Glaze. I personally love coffee used in grilling, and this glaze sounds really tasty on some chicken or maybe even pork tenderloin!

Thanks to all for the entries. Keep them coming as the Carnival of the Grill continues!!!

I bbq in the snow! The grill NEVER closes…
